The 22nd edition of International Theater Festival for Children and Young Adults in Hamedan was inaugurated on Thursday October 1st with theater troupes coming from nine different countries including Iran.
About fifty theater troupes from Italy, Germany, Finland, Russia, England, and few more will be competing in the two different sections during the five-day program, Persian media reported on Friday.
Several workshops have also been arranged by Iranian and foreign artists to be held for the interested participants. Maryam Saadat and her troupe performed “Concert of Flies” during the opening ceremony followed by a pantomime performed by Yasser Khaseb.
Addressing the audience, Saadat said, “Working for children is hard and requires patience, since children cannot tolerate complicated issues and we need to work with music and rhythm and this makes it harder”.
Veteran theatrical figures Reza Babak, Hossein Moheb-Ahari and Abbas Jahangirian are due to judge the participating plays in the young adult section, while the entries to the children section will be judged by Bahram Shah Mohamamdlu, Moslem Qasemi and Parastu Golestani.
The jury of the international section also includes Ali-Akbar Qazi Nezam, Mojtaba Mehdi, and Majid Amrai.
